If you have not paid by 3pm central today (Tuesday), I cannot guarantee you a seat at dinner for new years. We have to give the Westin final guest numbers, and that means you will not be in that number if you are unpaid.

We are no longer accepting checks as a form of payment for New Year’s. If you register, you can only pay by PayPal or credit card. If you’ve already posted your check, then that’s fine.

We’ve sent out our final email before New Year’s. Here’s the text:

This is the last email you will be getting from us until you are at the Westin. Hooray! Please read this email in its entirety!

### 1. Hotel Rules

* NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BOOZE. Please be discreet if you choose to ignore this. Bellmen will confiscate anything they see or are asked to handle.

* NO OUTSIDE BOOZE IN THE BANQUET HALL. We’ve paid for a ton of drinks, all for you to enjoy at the open bars. If you bring flasks, etc., it will cause a *lot* of trouble. Save it for the other nights.

### 2. Banketas Ticket and Itinerary Distribution / Pickup

* Banketas tickets will be available for pickup from 3-5pm on Thursday and Friday just past the front desk of the hotel. BRING YOUR ID. We will also be giving out tickets to latecomers Saturday night starting at 6:30pm in more or less the same area.

Obviously, do not lose your ticket! Every room has a safe where you can stow them!

### 4. Schedule of Events

We are including as an attachment our informational pdf that features maps and other valuable stuff for the events on Thursday and Friday. Please print this out. There is also a black and white version

The Banketas now costs $140. Payments received in envelopes postmarked Dec. 20th or later will be considered unfilled for less than that. We’re sorry to keep having to raise prices, but we need to enforce a strict program of early purchase incentives. Interested guests are still encouraged to register.

Finally, we now have chosen all four winners of our raffle of a free night’s stay at the Westin, currently a $250+ value. There’s a charming geographical distribution to the group that warms my heart. The first and second winners were chosen using RANDBETWEEN() in Excel, and the third and fourth were delivered using this far cleaner command:

We have two more rooms to give away to our loyal guests. The winner of the first free room raffle was Arūnas Karalis. The second free room went to Vytas Juškys. Entre nous, you should be able to milk a few free drinks out of them over the course of New Years weekend.

But now we’re giving you a chance to join their crowd. All you have to have done is be registered and paid for New Year’s by 11:59pm CST on Dec 15—that’s next Thursday. If you’re paying by check, it must be post-marked Monday, Dec. 12. We’ll announce the two winners on here and in our upcoming email about table arrangements.

First: Check this site out again at the end of the week, as we’ll be having another free room raffle!

Next: as of 5pm today, the Westin is no longer booking rooms for us as a group. Thanks for getting your reservations in before the deadline. To anyone who has had trouble reserving, especially during the hectic makalynė over the past five days, we apologise. We’re still working/negotiating with the Westin over fixing some problems, but we can’t guarantee anything will come of it.

If you still haven’t gotten a room, you can book at the Westin or via Expedia or Travelocity or similar sites. Auksė has found reasonable rates still available there. Once the Westin sells out, which it probably will, we encourage looking at other hotels in the area. Prices are still in the < $200/night range at nearby places, and there are lots of options within a few blocks; River North / Magnificent Mile is bumpin’ with hotel love.

Registrations are, of course, still open, and we’re still doing brisk business in adding new names to our group—the banquet is only a few guests away from being twice the size of New Year’s in Boston last year. So register if you haven’t and get your friends to do so, also.
